How to Get Saved: Giving Your Life to Christ
Salvation is the greatest gift ever offered to humanity. It is not about religion, rituals, or trying to be a “good person.” It is about a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Many people ask, “How do I get saved?” The answer is both simple and profound.
1. Understand the Need for Salvation
The Bible teaches that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s standard:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
Sin separates us from God. No amount of good works, kindness, or effort can remove that separation.
2. Recognise God’s Love for You
Even in our sinful state, God’s love remains constant:
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Jesus Christ came to earth, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross to pay the price for our sins.
3. Believe in Jesus Christ
Salvation begins with belief, not just intellectually, but from the heart:
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
To believe means to trust fully in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
4. Repent and Turn to God
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning towards God. It is a decision to change direction in your life.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” (Acts 3:19)
5. Receive the Gift of Salvation
Salvation is not earned, it is a gift:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God—not by works.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
All you have to do is receive it by faith.
The Sinner’s Prayer
If you are ready to give your life to Christ, you can pray this prayer sincerely from your heart:
“Lord Jesus,
I come to You today just as I am.
I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness.
I believe that You died for my sins and rose again.
Today, I repent of my sins and turn to You.
Come into my life, be my Lord and my Saviour.
From this day forward, I choose to follow You.
Thank You for saving me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
